A Glance at the Coming Year
A glance at the coming year:
- We now have an official office for PIEAT. It is in the Cultural House in the center of Jalapa and is a home for PIEAT and AACC programs as well as a place to hold story hours, give workshops, and host organizational meetings for commuinty groups.
- We have a local representative living in Jalapa through June, 2010. She is coordinating the construction and development of a vocational school for the street children of Jalapa.
- Our last delegation to Nicaragua was in March, 2010. AACC will be leading a Watershed High School delegation in May and a family delegation in June. Contact us if you are interested!
- Naropa Fest is hosting a concert fundraiser on April 23rd; all proceed will benefit AACC's school project.
- Many opportunities for volunteers! Among them we are looking for a volunteer to hold English classes in Jalapa. If you are interested in spending time in Nicaragua (3 month minimum), please contact us for community service opportunities.
- Parenting classes continue for the 8th year
- The time is right to start planning for the future; what is important for AACC for 2011? Please let us know your thoughts!
